NO FEAR HERE

The plane flies in from Texas
Over the familiar green
Neat little rows of houses
And a life that might have been
A ghost behind the church door
And secrets within each wall
What did they ever believe in?
Why did they do it at all?

I want to build a home you want to come back to
No fear here
No fear anymore

When you fled the hard, hard island
When you fled the hard, hard man
Did you say to yourself, Sean
I'll never go back again
There's nothing for me there
Only sorrow and the robes she wears

I hope there is another homeplace
I hope it can be here
Where the secrets are all outed
And the dirty air is cleared
Where the sacred walls and mountains
Are all called into play
Where the songs and the music marry
To bring us into a brighter day
Reaching out across the oceans
To the corners of the world
To the wounded and abandoned
Little Irish boys and girls

I want to build a home you want to come back to
No fear here
No fear anymore
No fear here
Only an open door

A home you want to come back to...
