Luka Bloom: "I heard Eithne sing in Kildare a few years ago and was blown away by her voice. Her background is as a singer of old Irish songs, both in the Irish language and in English. I was so taken by her singing I wrote a song for her. It's on 'Before Sleep Comes' and is called 'She Sings Her Songs With Open Eyes'. Eithne is blessed with a very pure and true voice, which is very haunting and beautiful. She is also an accomplished musician, and has written some of the songs on her album. Eithne has done gigs with me, and I have played on her new album, on the wonderful Sandy Denny song 'Who Knows Where The Time Goes'."

"This album didn't start out as a duets album. John Themis and I wrote a song we felt would be suitable for Christy Moore, Luka Bloom and myself to sing for a fantastic cause, the charity 'Children in Crossfire'.

I had a great day recording with Christy and Luka in the studio in Dublin. Though we never expected the single to grow from that into a duets album... When he heard the track, I was asked by Dave Pennefather from Universal Music Ireland if I'd ever thought about making a duets album. It sounded great, so he told me to pick all the artists that I'd like to work with - artists that would mean something to me and my songs. So firstly, I'd like to say thanks to him for making this happen and secondly, a massive big hug and thanks to everyone who gave their time and their art for this album."

Extract from Sleeve Notes:
When I first clapped eyes on Barry Moore (aka Luka Bloom) he was twelve years old. He was way up stairs in a small bedroom in the Moore family home playing his guitar. I was way too busy courting his older sister to pay much attention to him!

Barry was the first one to suggest to me that I make an album. He has always said that I have an unusual style and a great story to tell. I take me hat off to you Barry - you were The One that sowed the seed!

One day towards the end of last March I am on the phone talking family and stuff to Christy. Out of the blue I say to him "would you play bodhran for me in a studio if I made an album?" He answers without any hesitation "Yes". I am a bit taken aback with the quick answer. "Can you give me some dates?" says I timidly. Sooner or later...?" asks he. "How about Sunday afternoon 22nd April?" says he. I am flabbergasted. "How can you come up with a date like that so quickly?" "Well I have a diary in front of me!" says he, as cool as a cucumber.

Next I am on the phone to Quentin Cooper (sound engineer) and the whole deal is set up. Marked up in his diary and all ready to go - Sunday 22nd from 1am to about 5pm in the Old Courthouse Studio in Ennistymon. Got to get Anne on board but she is the easiest - always very willing and always very able. And next I phone up the bouzouki player, broadcaster and all round good guy -the great Eoin O'Neill. I book him for the day.....

"In December 2017 I attended a meditation guided by Trea Heapes. The moment I heard her voice I said to myself, 'I want to make a CD with her.' And so I asked. And here it is.
I wanted to make this CD happen because I wanted one for myself. Trea's voice and manner of delivering is very soothing and helpful, to calm my busy mind, and help me feel grounded in my day. I'm so happy we created this CD."
